Mission Statement
Learning and teaching are at their best in an environment which is safe and attractive, where all members of the community are valued, where rights and responsibilities are clear, where support and challenge are provided and where achievements of all kinds are recognized. Blurton High School’s key purpose is to provide such an environment, achieving it in a partnership of trust involving students, staff, parents and the community.
The Aims of Blurton High School
- To provide a safe environment for the pupils attending the school.
- To deliver the National Curriculum supplemented at KS4 by a range of Option subjects.
- To develop the intellectual qualities of all pupils to the full, recognising individual needs and providing equal opportunities.
- To develop the core skills of oracy, literacy, numeracy and the ability to solve problems.
- To develop the ability to make appropriate decisions.
- To foster self-esteem and tolerance.
- To develop an awareness of the school’s role in the community.

- To assess and monitor pupils’ achievement in order to ensure continuity and progression.
